About

Hi! I’m Meredith, traveler, cat whisperer, art teacher, designer, organizer, and someone who’s really good at color coordinating. I've been working my entire professional life as a designer, save one year that I was a travel agent. I believe that our professional lives should be something we’re passionate about. I do not think of work as work, but instead an exploration of what you’d like to learn and achieve, and how you’d like to spend your time. Over time my career has had various stages, from art director at an ad agency, to professional photographer, to home goods product design in New York City, independent freelancer, and finally art licenser & arts & crafts teacher.

Currently my days are varied, but most weeks I’m doing a little freelance, teaching a couple of classes, and everyday I’m building my licensing portfolio. As my career has progressed, I’ve leaned more and more into my own style. And I’ve created a lifestyle that revolves around art and creation. I’ve settled in Austin, Texas, married a sweet and amazing man in 2026, and goal everyday is to spend time creating and sharing that with any one who’s curious.

My best friends in NYC.

I'm a light-hearted designer who's not afraid to take risks. I'm great at vectors, patterns, whimsy, and design appealing to the trend savvy and a more thoughtful, whimsical consumer. I love creating items that someone will touch and feel, and find joy in having it. That’s why product design is something I’m passionate about. One of my favorite things to do is to travel. To experience other cultures, plants, and people, and take that inspiration and put it into what I design.

What do I do? Well, A few things:

  1. I design physical products Home fashion accessories, gift-ables, home textiles, travel products, baby room decor, stationery, souvenirs, & socks & hosiery. I do CAD work designing the construction of items, but I majorly deal with the colors, patterns, materials, and overall graphics applied to products.

  2. Licensed design & patterns My go-to activity is working on personal designs that are inspired by the world around me in bustling Austin, Texas. I like to draw on travel experiences as well. I observe and document a lot of nature close-up, like flowers, bugs, and birds. A lot of those things end up in my designs. I make a point of regularly reaching out to companies looking for fresh new designs. I keep in touch with the heart beat of what’s trending, what’s comforting to consumers right now, and what’s classically always a hit.

  3. Teaching Art Classes What started out as an excuse to get away from the computer has grown into one of the things that brings me the greatest joy. I took a job teaching kids drawing classes for Young Rembrandts. It was a once a week gig, although sometimes a few times a week. I would sub for other classes and each quarter we’d have new students. At the time, being in a room full of kids was terrifying and challenging. I have a fear of public speaking, and I had no clue how to control a classroom. Over a few years I got more and more comfortable teaching and being a leader in a room, even if they’re smaller humans.

Later, I saw an opening for teaching adult pottery classes for a company called Pottery With A Purpose. With my new found confidence that sounded like a shoe-in for me. I love it! I love sharing art, and many people joining those classes have never played with clay. I am their guide into simply playing with mud, what could be better? Most recently, I started teaching classes for Hoamsy, which allows me to create more unique and personal to me classes. So that adventure has just begun, and I can safely say I spend a lot of my time teaching or preparing to teach.

I take photos every day. Photography is one of my favorite things that I’ll always do. You can follow me on instagram @merenor.

A History of Lovable Brands

With my beginning in the advertising world, I gained a lot of experience in logo and brand development. When I switched to physical product design I worked for companies that needed more brand options for the different types of products they were creating. I had a skill unique to the home decor industry that included more branding and marketing. I used my skills to name, design, & flesh out 100’s of brands that you may still encounter in stores today.

Made waves at my first job

Working at my first design position out of college, I created a well regarded brand look and feel for a local high end fashion boutique. I also spearheaded developing an in-house photography department for the agency.

Self Motivated

Early in my career I started my own business, learning to self-manage and support myself creatively and independently.

Risk-Taker

Seeking more out of my career creatively, I took the plunge to relocate to New York as a product & graphic designer at Jonathan Adler, where even in a smaller role, I designed a series of products that Jonathan Adler still sells (and he himself posts Instagram photos of) to this day.

Wears Multiple Hats

As the Lead Product Designer in a start up home accessories company, I was essential in creating product lines, developing multiple product collections, creating new brands, and communicating directly with factories. Over four years we built the start-up into a multi-million dollar company.

Note Worthy

While working for over 12 years in product and brand design, I have created over 200 product design collections and designed over 100 successful brands across multiple industries, many of which are still sold in stores today.
